About TEVEL2-1

TEVEL2-1 is one of nine 1U CubeSats of Israel's TEVEL2 mission, built by high school students in research centres that Tel Aviv University set up in nine municipalities across the country, and funded by the Israel Space Agency. All nine were launched on 15 March 2025 on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rideshare (Transporter-13) from Vandenberg. Their science task is to map cosmic radiation in orbit with identical sensors developed by the Soreq Nuclear Research Center.

Like the first TEVEL satellites, each TEVEL2 carries an FM transponder that the team switches on from time to time. All nine share the same frequencies: transmit on 145.970 MHz FM and listen on 436.400 MHz FM. The satellites' beacon on the same frequency sends 9600 bps BPSK telemetry. With the downlink on 70 cm, expect up to ±10 kHz of Doppler and retune in 5 kHz steps.

Because the nine satellites were launched together and use one frequency pair, check which TEVEL2 is above your horizon, and watch AMSAT reports and announcements for activation times.
