About CROCUBE
CroCube is Croatia's first satellite, a 1U CubeSat of the Society for Out-of-Frame Education (Društvo EVO), built with the company Spacemanic and launched on 21 December 2024 on SpaceX's Bandwagon-2 rideshare from Vandenberg, on the same flight as the Czech LASARsat. It was designed mainly for amateur radio: to serve radio amateurs in Croatia and worldwide, and to give students hands-on experience with satellite communication. It also carries a camera and Astrotron 1000, a module that was the first Croatian-built hardware in space.
Its UHF downlink on 436.775 MHz carries AX.25 telemetry at 9600 baud (GFSK, G3RUH), a CW beacon, special messages for anniversaries, experimental SSDV pictures and a digipeater. AMSAT lists the digipeater with the path alias 9A0CC.
Like LASARsat, CroCube flies in a 45° inclination orbit, so it is best placed for stations at mid and low latitudes.
