About ITASAT
ITASAT 1 is a 6U CubeSat of the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA) in Brazil. It was first planned as an 80 kg microsatellite, but in 2013 the project was rescaled to a CubeSat because no affordable launch could be found. It was launched on 3 December 2018 on Spaceflight's SSO-A rideshare mission on a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg, together with dozens of other small satellites, including JY1Sat (JO-97) and AO-95.
The satellite was built to train students and to test Brazilian space hardware: a data-collection system, a GPS receiver and a camera with a ground resolution of about 80 m. Its frequency application also described a communication experiment for radio amateurs, in which the satellite would store and forward short messages.
Its coordinated downlinks are 145.860 MHz for 1200 bps AX.25 telemetry and 2400.150 MHz for 14.4 kbps BPSK data.

Questions about ITASAT
- What is the ITASAT downlink frequency?
- ITASAT transmits on 145.860 MHz (BPSK 1k2) and 2400.150 MHz (BPSK 14k4).
- Is ITASAT active?
- Listed as working, but nobody reported hearing ITASAT on AMSAT in the last 30 days.
- When does ITASAT pass over my location?
- Open ITASAT on the live map and enter your Maidenhead locator or use GPS: the tracker lists the passes of the next 24 hours with AOS, maximum elevation and LOS, and shifts the frequencies for Doppler.
