About AO-85

AO-85, built by AMSAT as Fox-1A, was the first of AMSAT's Fox-1 CubeSats. It was launched on 8 October 2015 on an Atlas V rocket from Vandenberg as part of NASA's ELaNa XII mission.

It was a U/v FM repeater: its uplink was 435.170 MHz FM with a 67.0 Hz tone and its downlink 145.980 MHz. Its downlink also carried low-speed telemetry under the voice, which the AMSAT FoxTelem software decoded.

AO-85's batteries failed, and AMSAT declared the end of its mission in February 2020. It could be heard again if a battery cell ever opens, but it is not in service.
